Italy pictures up
Elephant in Italy
Well, we got the pictures of Elephant up. We lost him in Parma, but we thought of him throughout the trip. I completely panicked when I realized we didn’t have him in Venice and searched for him by ripping through bags on the docks. BUMMER.

Elephant guy in Italy
For those who liked the Elephant in London pictures, Sadie and I have taken the little guy to Italy with us and he’s been in the cupola in St. Peter’s basillica, eaten dinner, had wine, espresso and was in Chianti. Pictures will probably come at the end of the trip.

8th 14er for me, 3rd for Starry
Torreys and Grays peaks. 14,267 and 14,270
Well, we made it. And this time Starry didn’t fall down the mountain. It was an awesome hike. Ron and I started out a little late (7:00ish at the trailhead), and the road was a lot worse than I expected. We ran into a bunch of people who couldn’t make the hill, then decided to walk to the actual trailhead. Luckily Ron went back got the truck and we skipped almost 2 miles of pre-hiking. It was nice, and we hit the trail with little clothes to take off later in the hike. We couldn’t find the sign for Gray’s first (which at the top is so obvious) so we went to Torrey’s. Ron was in killer shape and I knew I was holding him back. Anyway we made Torrey’s, climbed back down the saddle, then went up Gray’s, then back down. Not very often can you get a two for one 14′er hike. It was VERY pretty up there, and couldn’t have asked for a better day. Great day out…

Sand Dunes MINI run
Colorado Great Sand Dunes National Park
Had a GREAT time, except Sadie was out of commission becuase of a migraine. BUMMER. So I set off with the MINI geeks and we flew down there. Stopped at Salida at Bungled Jungle to see the cool monsters. More in a bit. Did some speeding to catch up to the group. Then had lunch, grabbed my snowboard and went sand-boarding. Very cool! It’s a cool place. Had a good time, put almost 600 miles on the MINI. Very odd thing is the “river” that surges as the sand keeps breaking down.
