Colorado Great Sand Dunes National Park

Had a GREAT time, except Sadie was out of commission becuase of a migraine.  BUMMER.  So I set off with the MINI geeks and we flew down there.  Stopped at Salida at Bungled Jungle to see the cool monsters.  More in a bit.  Did some speeding to catch up to the group.  Then had lunch, grabbed my snowboard and went sand-boarding.  Very cool!  It’s a cool place.  Had a good time, put almost 600 miles on the MINI.   Very odd thing is the “river” that surges as the sand keeps breaking down.

The Ride.

Cool!! There are MINI Cooper events coming up. A ride to Yellowstone, ride to Sand Dunes National Park, and a ride to The Black Hills in SD. We’re in for something….

The Metro is gone.  Sold it for $750 on Craigslist, but neighbor scooped it up before I could show it.

Has anyone else seen this?  Don’t bother googling it, get on the tube and watch it.  Sadie’s brother turned us on to this one.  It seemed like another boring british car show at first.  But these guys are hysterical.  They do some damn funny things and it’s sometimes less about the car, and more about the comedy.   Anyone who knows this show knows the dude on the left.  The Stig is cool.  No words, sometimes some music, but all pedal to the metal.   I’d love to do this type of show in the states ( I know they have an American one), but I just can’t see topping them.  You guys rule!

So I had an major issue with the Mini. Squeaking and it sounded like the wheel bearing was going out. Turns out this happens to stock Mini tires when they get worn. So, they didn’t charge me anything. Glad to leave the dealer paying nothing with an out of warrantee Mini.

Bummed to see it for sale, but we need to get rid of some vehicles. 

For MINI5280.org for their newsletter.  They wanted a perspective from a new member.  So I got creative and wrote my ass off.

WOW, we put almost 1000 miles on the MINI this weekend.  The trip was really 882, but we took some side runs (like getting doggie and a run to Burger Boy Drive in).  It was worth it .  I love my CAR!!!
