Owww!!!  I have no idea what I did, but it hurts like hell.  It’s really bad when going up stairs.  Damnit.    I may go to the doctor for this one..

Poker

So we played a poker tournament  last night.  I made the final table, and had some good mid-game cards (the reason why I was the final).  Then the blinds and lack of ANY good cards forced me to go all in on a less than stellar hand.  That’s poker.    Sadie on the other hand was kicking their butt.  She gave them a run for it and came in 2nd!  $160 later, she’s stylin.  This is what I keep thinking is going to happen in the future.

Tusken Progress

He is coming along!  I’m a bit nervous about just slapping it together, so I have been really patient (yes, me patient) and it’s coming out awesome.  Just nervous I’ll mess him up, so I work with him, before gluing.  The worst part so far has been the lambskin mouth, getting the folds just right.  Seriously I spent about 10 hours folding and refolding, before I actually glued it and in 5 minutes.  The cowhide mouthpiece is where I am working now.   Epoxy is definitely not forgiving.

WordPress theme and Featured Post issues

May 30th, 2009 Randy No comments

So I got Sadie’s cake page looking better for her, and realized I outdid mine.  So I hunted for a new theme.  There are a ton out there.  Had SO many issues that I think are related to db or code issues and I can’t get them straight.   Other themes work great on Sadie’s page, but mine have the dreaded “Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.”   Lame.  So I changed to the Inove theme.  Great stuff.  But I am also doing Featured-Gallery-Post plugins.  And damn if it doesn’t have a conflict with menus and a script type mismatch error.  Turn off the plugin, no error.  It’s a conflict with Inove and no resolution.  Even after it’s mentioned here on the plugins page and on the Inove website here as well.  TTTHHBBSSTT!!!

Harvey and Crazy Carrot

May 21st, 2009 Randy No comments

So I told you I stopped at Bungled Jungle.  A rather odd place with cool statues of monsters.   One MINI geek commented that it was actually what happens when you’re on too many illegal drugs.  Well, I HAD to get one, and then I saw one I wanted for Sadie.  They speak for themselves.  Coool!!  Sadie calls the big monster Harvey.  BTW, Harvey is about 3 feet tall!!!

Tusken Raider

Yeah, when it rains, it pours.  I am also starting a Tusken Raider.  You know those cool guys that try to beat up Luke or shoot at Anakin?   Well.  This kit rocks!!!  I’m only about 25% done, and that may be stretching it.  It’s machined aluminum for the silver pieces, and a quality latex mask.  It will be fun when it’s all done.

Gonk

May 21st, 2009 Randy No comments

So, it’s Star Wars props time again.   I’m not 100% done with the Trooper but I’ve started on two new projects.  Gonk is actually a Star Wars Power Droid.  The little walking battery that is on the Jawa’s vehicle?  Well anyway, I’ve tackled him and he’s started out pretty cool.  Pictures are up, more when I finish him.

Sand Dunes MINI run

May 21st, 2009 Randy No comments

Colorado Great Sand Dunes National Park

Had a GREAT time, except Sadie was out of commission becuase of a migraine.  BUMMER.  So I set off with the MINI geeks and we flew down there.  Stopped at Salida at Bungled Jungle to see the cool monsters.  More in a bit.  Did some speeding to catch up to the group.  Then had lunch, grabbed my snowboard and went sand-boarding.  Very cool!  It’s a cool place.  Had a good time, put almost 600 miles on the MINI.   Very odd thing is the “river” that surges as the sand keeps breaking down.

Wagamama Food!

May 8th, 2009 Randy No comments

Wagamama is a REALLY good restaurant, and has great spices.  Sadie got some in London.  She really dug the sweet potato curry.  I found a copycat recipe.  Looks like they came over to Boston first.  Hope they make it to Denver.
